Puzzle Wednesdays

Worth Carnahan is one of those Golden Age artists who has fallen into near complete obscurity despite some very good work. For the next few weeks, we'll take a look at some of the puzzle pages he did for Harvey's Champion Comics.

Here's number 3 in the series. Check back next week for another edition and the answers to these puzzles.

Monday Video -- More Max Maven

[Every Monday for the next few months, we'll be posting a short video clip here at You Do the Math. All will have at least a tenuous connection to science, technology, engineering, or mathematics. Teachers can use these as writing prompts or as starting points for larger lesson plans (I'll try to include some hints now and then), but the main purpose is simply to have a little fun.]

Most College Humor videos are definitely not suitable for the classroom. This one is fairly safe (and very funny), but you should definitely proceed with caution.

I have heard that Copperfield commissioned Max Maven to create illusions for him. This might be an example.

As a class activity, I would suggest running through all the permutations to show how your first choice doesn't matter.
